Product sourcing may be the single most important factor on the level of success (profit) you’ll achieve with your eCommerce business. It’s January 2015 and I recently returned from the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) trade show in Las Vegas. It’s one of the largest product trade shows in Vegas with approximately 170,000 people attending this year. I lost count how many times I have attended this show but if I had to guess it would be around 10-12 times.

Attending a product trade show is serious business. I spend hours and hours in preparation in advance to going and once there spend hours and hours walking the halls and talking to suppliers. While Vegas is suppose to be a fun place to visit, I view attending CES as 95% business and 5% fun. However for me, business is fun…

I also believe the real money to be made is at the Las Vegas Convention Center and not at the casinos. In eCommerce you MAKE YOUR MONEY when you buy the product and you’re simply GETTING YOUR MONEY when you sell the product. Buying smart is critical to your success.
